Australind

We're now just up the road from Busselton in Australind. Danielle is attending an ATE (as they call them here) from 9-2 each day for a couple of weeks — very short hours, but we're grateful for opportunity and gives us both a change.

We've met a lovely family — Stacie (who is 19 and attends the ATE with Danni) and her mum, Christine - we've all enjoyed walks along the foreshore looking at the waves and birds.

The wonderful staff (and Danni) at Activ in Bunbury

Whilst Danni was at the respite house I had a quick trip further south to Margaret River area with Linda and Jim (who we met at Esperance), we also visited a few wineries.

Langbourne's Winery on the Caves Road near Margaret River — obviously a Tuscan influence here!  The winery is run by people who previously owned Seaworld — so lots of money being spent on it.

Just Sampling!
Wonderful Black Cockatoo bird bath

View from our campsite at Australind — looking towards the Indian Ocean, fortunately there is a narrow peninsula between us and there. It's EXTREMELY windy here when a cold front comes through.

We had a day trip to up to Fremantle and visited the famous dockland markets — Danni loved sitting here listening to the musicians.

The pier at Busselton which is supposed to be the longest in the southern hemisphere.
